As part of the Horizon Europe project BRIDGESMEs, the upcoming webinar “Immersive Futures: XR, Digitalisation and the Rise of the Metaverse” will take place on 30 September 2025 at 15:30 CEST. Organised by the Institute of Heritage Science of the Italian National Research Council (CNR ISPC), the online session will explore the impact of immersive technologies, XR and Web3D applications in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) and Tourism sectors.

The session will feature four expert speakers. Eva Pietroni (CNR ISPC) will open the event with a presentation on hybrid reality environments, multisensory museums and the role of storytelling in cultural innovation. Bruno Fanini (CNR ISPC) will introduce ATON, an open-source WebXR framework that simplifies the development of interactive heritage experiences. Enzo D’Annibale (CNR ISPC) will follow with a practical look at immersive visualisation tools tailored to museums and cultural audiences. Finally, Sam Minelli from GruppoMeta will offer an industry perspective on AI-powered learning in Mixed Reality environments.

This event is part of the BRIDGESMEs capacity-building programme, designed to support European SMEs in their transition toward Industry 5.0. The programme includes webinars, policy labs and peer-exchange activities focused on innovation, cooperation and ecosystem development.
